The scheme sets Best Practice standards for professional pesticide use in the Amenity sector.
Contractors and other organisations applying pesticides are independently audited annually against an industry-agreed set of standards and, if compliant, receive an annual certificate.
BASIS also organises Amenity examinations and certificates successful candidates covering Advisor; Manager/Supervisor; and Storekeeper qualifications for pesticides.
The BASIS Amenity Register (BAR) records training and development activities for members with on-line CPD points for each.

City & Guilds has developed a professional register specifically for amenity sprayer operators to recognise Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  The National Amenity Sprayer Operators Register (NAsOR) provides members with the opportunity to keep skills up to date, raise standards and recognise professionalism in amenity spraying.
NAsOR is available to individuals qualified in the Safe Use of Pesticides, with a minimum of PA1 Foundation Module, and a Pesticide Application Unit(s) from PA2– A13.
